When Indian Railways built the first power cars for Rajdhani Express, the Development and Standard Organization of Railways along with Kirloskar Electric designers brought out improved versions. They customized the generators for arduous working in coaches subjected to horizontal and vertical accelerations for several years. Even today, Kirloskar Electric supplies several versions of AC generators to power cars.
